Ok im trying to put my 21mil delleorto on my runner sp50. However there is a hose going from the cylinder head into the carb, i pulled it off at the carb and coolant start pissing out. Underneath the connection from the carb there is another hose wich goes to the coolant line. Should i make it go from the cylinder head straight to the coolant line bypassing the carb. Help!!!!
If your carb has the inlet and outlet for the carb cooling circuit then connect it up, if not just use one hose and bypass it as you mentioned. The heat from the motor won't really cause you problems unless its a real baking hot day.
ok come across another problem, the throttle cable has way to much slack, so i pull the throttle but it doesnt raise the needle and that ??
Trace your throttle cable back and wind the adjusters all the way out, do the same at the carb end. Then work back and wind them in so the tension on the cable occurs after about 5mm of throttle revolution (Legal requirement is 10mm but it's never checked). Should sort it otherwise you'll need to get the cable shortened and nipple resoldered on.
its fine now, i just took the connector off the old carb and put it on the new, so there is a metal peice with longer strech screwing into the top. Now the fucker wont start even when i pull the choke cable up, i need the proper choke levers. Worried about killing my battery as my kickstart doesnt work
im going to try heating up the spark plug then trying to start it. what does it mean if petrol comes out your filter, havent noticed it just happend when we put my 21mil on my mates bike.
ok got it started but it bogs hard when i try to pull off revs then bogs, now ive read minors guide, so i tried adjusting the idle air fuel mix but its making fuk all differnce, Could were the needle is positioned be doing this or issit down to mainjet?!!!
Mainly Jet size, then use the needle to fine tune... be aware that it may be bogging due to lack of fuel also.
Changed the main jet from 90 to 80 and it now rides but the spark plug is black so i know i need to downjet, howevever my tempo guage was at two then started flashing and only the highest and lowest bars flashed then it went normal again but at like 3 then flashed again then went back to normal, could this be anything to do with the choke?
omg does that front wheel come up or what. Its noyt set up right though i can tell because when im throttle off it sounds like it wants to die. If its ok with you minor i can come up to you and you can set it up for me. Ill pay obiously but i need to do it asap as im going to my uncles next wednesday proberly and i dont want him to think im messing it up. Feels powerful as though minor let me know when your free.
Didnt minor tell you in another post that a Runner with 21mm carb and iron kit should use a 76 main jet and 5.5g or 5.0g rollers
yup but the carb alredy had the 90 in and i forgot so i tried it wid dat, then i remmberd minor said 76 so i thought id start at 80 and work down just in case because of differnt filters sucking in differnt amounts of air ect. But i need the needle set up and the idle air fuel mixture ect. knowing me ill probs have another crack at it tomorrow if the weathers nice. Minor Can you tell me roughly how man y turns out to do the air fuel screw and what 1 the needle should be on.
Have a look through the posts...im sure hes answered this question as well recently.. o.k ive had a look for you and minor gave the settings for a 25mm carb in an earlier post....so if you dont work it out for your self, youll have to wait for minor to answer
yer i know its just ive confused minor and my self as he might not know if im asking to set up my 21 or standard and i dont know if he is talking about the 21mill or the standard carb. LOL
ill do it for you m8, wont take me an hour so pm me about it needle on top position (clip at the thick end) idle screw around 2-3 turns out with anything from 76 to 86 depending on the other parts. rollers are deffo the issue here tho m8
