CDI whats it do ?

    so basicly i had my scooter in bits the other day to so the head (jog rr) and i noticed that the cdi wasnt plugged in and theres not loom for it what does it do and how will it affect my ped with it not plugged in ? :)

    It won't run if not connected
    It controls the spark and spark timing so the spark plug ignites the fuel at the right time when the piston is in the correct position

    its run fine for about 3 without it ;/

    its probably a relay then, or an extra cdi? where is it?

    It's not a cdi if its unplugged

    its screwed under a the seat :)

    its the timer relay for your choke or something like that anyway. its for your choke.

    whats your bike like when its cold? if it struggles to start when its cold (or runs like shit whenits warm!) then you need to plug it in. i guess you have a manual choke then? or maybe your talking about the exhaust gas thing on the left side of the seat bucket?

    dont have nothing on the left hand side ;/ and do you have a photo of one plugged in so i get the wires the right way round ?

    a lad i know offerd to swap me it for mine but it has a dodgy water pump whats they like to do in one of them ? ;) x

    engine is very easy to work on as its just there in front of you..carb is very hard to get to as it sits just under the petrol tank..water pump is easy to get to but ive not had to touch it so

    is it worth £300 on a 57 reg with no t&t and a dodgy water pump ?
