Theres a cdi unit on your carb ??? cratch: i racked my brains on this one, only thing i can think of is your mistaking the electric choke for a cdi....
maybe thats what it is m8 its a small black block connected to the carb, which when disconnected has a small sprung brass pin,the malossi carb has an extra boltin inlet next to the accel/cable but when you remove this it seems like it has a small black bung in it,cant see how i would connect the two can u help???ty for ya replyundone the bolt and with a couple of taps out dropped the connector :yahoo: connected the manual choke?what do i do with the electric choke disconnected from the first connector,do i just cap that off ??? cratch:
now it has a manual choke fitted i do away with the electric one?what do i do with the wire thats left plz?just tape it up????
spot on dave m8 thanks alot. :cheersne last thing now im using the m/choke when do i idealy use it,can you recommend a decent ped magazine/website to help me in future i need to learn as much as i can..lol as i am new to this.and once again thanks
ive got a manual choke carb on my Runner: I put the choke on for any cold starts, let it idle with the choke on for 30 secs or so, switch the choke off and keep the engine going by blipping the throttle until its warm enough to keep running on its own. Auto chokes are really convenient (on bikes or cars) but they are flawed, in that they always stay on too long, wasting petrol and causing bore wash, on a cold day the auto choke is still on slightly, 7 miles down the road (on my car), which is ridiculous really :glare:
for some reason its not starting with the new carb any suggestions mate ?ive got a sports exhaust a malossi air filter and malossi 22mm carb just waitin on my 70cc cylinder/piston set up,will it not start up unless it has a 70cc cylinder fitted cause of the carb????
Nice mate, have you jetted your carb by 5%? also gl with the 70kit, if you have any problems can you post them and a resolvable answer? because i am too going to put a 70kit on my dna, and a sports exhaust, what exhaust have you gone for?
yep carb is jetted, imlookin at either a zx or am thinkin is it worth a yasuni?atm its got a viper on it what are they like never really heard of them? and untill i 70kit it up that carb aint gonna help is it?its not gonna start till the kits on it?ideally ill need a new crank too,any suggestions?
vipers really are pants im afraid.... deffo new pipe on the wish list.. as for 17.5 carbs, more than enough even for an iron 70 kit...
cant go wrong wiht a yasuni pipe... wichever best matches your cylinder choice... check the 50 guide.. as for jets, i dont recomend jet sizes.. i get paid to setup bikes.... doing it over the net never works, takes twice as long and drives me crazy
