yess i got stressed cos evrything i tried failed so i decided 2 pry it off and it cracked the kiskstart cover which annoyed me greatly so i decided to hammer the remaining bit of kickstart cover off and then this happend its just 1 of those days...
Lol you should never get frustrated with inanimate objects. I found out the hard way when your stressed things go wrong. Ive cut myself deeply before because things were not going my way. Just remember to calm down take a break, go back with a clear head and some positive attitude.
worst thing is before i fucked the cases it was just the kickstart cover that was bollocksed and the bolt was still ther strong with abit of kickstart cover attached i got pissed of and had hammer in 1 hand and just gave it 1 belt and a chunk came out wish i just stopped at the kickstart cover
Nah dont feel down about it now mate. Just learn from your mistakes. When i re-routed my throttle cable i noticed my slider was cracked "plugged it with a brass screw" I thought fuck i wont have my bike on the road until i have enough money to buy a new part. The guy across the road from me was helping and hes a full fledged mechanic so i decided to take breather get something to drink and when i came back he had routed the cable for me and fixed my slider. He then told me that i shouldnt get angry if something doesnt go my way. the lesson i learned if something doesnt go your way think about why its not going your way. Now i may have a daunting task of a whole engine strip down which ive never done before as the bike im hoping to buy has a water leak. 70cc MBK nitro. BTW. So ill probably take the engine out and then ask for advice on here.
i only took my cover of to clean it after the snow and the kickstart spring came out thats the most frustrating day of my life ive never sworn and smashed so many things up in one day including my hand bad designs
no probs...get it welded somewhere local. It don't affect the mOT or anything. Its not a stressed part so its not an issue. Any decent welder'll have it sorted in 10 mins
w surely it is a stressed part arc: otherwise why would the 20bhp + engines break here? torque twist i think its called?
Re: w lol this is true went to a welder this mornin he quoted me £120 (£50 labour £70 for the aluminium) dissappointed i went to local cbt place spoke to the guy about it he said it doesnt matter to go through mot it doesnt even need to be fixed but if i want to keep dirt and water out get putty or chemical metal or something and fix it myself all in all good result and it turns out i got fucked off for nothing imp: cheers for the help people and for the advice and calmdown shinigamii
you should see the kickstart cover lol i dont think 1 bit of metal has ever had such a hard time it got thrown on the floor and then belted with a hammer lol strangely it didnt make me feel any better about the situation
no, bad practice, i can get a spring in a case within 5 mins.. and have managed it since the first attempt (after reading how to do it in the manual) literally, is this "im gonna ignore common practice day" or somthing? you people shouldent be allowd near tools!!
20+bhp engines dont break, poorly mantained ones do ive NEVER had an engine crack, mirror polished, ported, sanded to fuck, shotblasted EVERY engine ive ever seen break has got 2 bolts holding the tranny cover on, THIS is the stress relieving/supporting part not the engine itself. thats why theres lock collets to possition the thing this little peice of nonsence is handed about by people selling aftermarket bushes that are far too stiff, or engine support arms that do fuck all.. telling me the engines gonna crack with ALL those 15 bolts in place? one of em held enough for a lump hammer to do this to the case, even then it snapped in a diff way. use all youyr bolts, use the right tools and DONT OVERTIGHTEN THEM and stuff like this need NEVER happen.
