So I'm 18 and want a car, I can't really afford it but I'm looking at cars that would be affordable to buy and insure for when I do have the money.
Which is mostly 1litre's, all I'm seeing is things like 1.0l Lupo's, with the guy boasting about outputs like 47bhp.
    I mean, 47? Don't piss me off.

Then I had a brain wave.
What if I buy one of these stupid little cars and shove something like a 600 GSXR engine in one or something, boasting around 100bhp. But how would I do the gear linkages and drive train?
I've heard about an MX5 with a Kawasaki engine in it and also a Mini with a Busa engine (mad), so I know it's possible, but how?

seen a mini with a busa engine, think they did something with a sprocket onto a custom rear axle.
but..... get your mum or dad to go as main driver (yes i know illegal etc etc) and you as named on a 1.6 laguna or something simular and youll be surprised how much lower insurance will be. also dont put your only doing 4,000 miles a year put 10,000 down as then you wont be a inexperienced driver for longer...

but if you REALLY want to put a bike engine into a small car. rear engined.. rear wheel drive... gsxr1000 engine.... wait for it.... KA. trust me. would be absolutely mental. and if you do this. can master mechanic here be involved ? ;)

What if you get pulled over though?
Po po gonna be like, you look good for 55 Mr Burridge, how'd you do it?
and I'll be all like o fuk.

But a KA does sound like a good base, even though they look silly, very silly. Silly girls car.

If you get a mk3 fiesta stick a 2.0 duratech engine init

With turbo gt35 I think and forged pistons and conrods penlium inlet sports cat with 750cc injectors uprated spring and valves with uprated cam an crank shaft with a dyno tuned you should see figures of around 350bhp up oh and aftermarket ecu like a mega squirt should be enuf

lad at work has one. took him 3 weeks to swap engines/looms. theres now a messed up streetKA with a 1.3 engine instead of a 1.6 somewhere lol

What you want us a smart car with a quad read axle with custom shaft and use a up down shift gear stick along with the standard motor bike handle bars with twist throttle and use brakes with the other leaver using a custom made brake pipes with twin exhuast

Your gonna had to get the mounts made but that should work

why change the steering when the clutch, brakes and throttle could very easily be done via standard pedals and standard steering wheel kept. the shifter would be the only thing changed controls wise then. the rear axle out of say a 600cc/farm quad, not a bad idea. but might not cope with power of a big big engine. the mounts would have to be reinforced as would most of the shell.

for fuck sake, why cant i stop talking like i do at work

But even if you get a quad type rear axel then take it to some where that make prop shafts etc with a oversize sprocket the would be able to sort it no problem

youd have to do a shaft drive conversion then for the engine to drive a propshaft into the lsd, i think a quad axle would be better solution but itd have to have the sprocket from the bike put onto it.

I ment as in take the quad axel to a place the makes the so that way can use it as a template and make something that can withstand summit like 1000 bhp

That what I was gonna do when I was gonna do my fezz

the cost would just be enormous when you could just take the quad axle, properly reinforce the mounts to the body for it, cut off the standard sprocket mounts, make custom sprocket mounts to accept the donor bikes sprocket but would have to be welded pretty good, other than that aslong as the axle is disc brake and not drum the only things that would need to be changed on rear axle would be the wheel bearings and brake discs etc.

wont mention the gfs nova, c20xe engine, stripped interior, full roll cage, bride bucket seats, 5 point harnesses, custom dash, bbs alloys, brembo brakes. cost about £9k and took 2-3 years to build. been painted white inside and out. absolute stunner.

I see what your saying but say the engine is putting 120 bhp to the wheel for example

Then you go put the gsxr with 250 bhp at the wheel for example the sure with that much power an acceleration wuild cuase the rear wheel to spin at a high rate one it grips it will shatter the axles to bits ??

As the fiesta had to have a lsd in the gear box and custom drive shaft at 350 bhp other with will do the same

The Citroen C2 looks better than the Ka and can also have silly engines put into it; Google the one with the Subaru engine in it. The C2 weighs as much as a Kleenex so it's stupidly fast.

    @ Burridge

You are setting yourself up for the "Good afternoon Squadron Leader, are we having trouble leaving the ground?" chat from the Dibble if you have a pocket rocket with a mahoosive engine and that won't end well..:p
