Maybe be a silly question ? I know if you filter is submerged you engine will die after taking in water,,,,, I have a double sponge type filter on my piaggio zip and today i lost the outer part as it must of fell of while i was riding.I noticed a change in the sound of the bike and pulled over to discover it had fell of...(couldn't find it) After that it seemed to have a fare power in crease and not as sluggesh as before and hit top end quicker..... My Question is :With this part of the filter missing will it damage the engine (carb) at all...will it suck in water etc. Thanks in advance
did it suck in water before? any sponge filter will allow water through if it gets wet, however it shouldnt be any more of an issue now then it was before just make sure with the sponge filter now halved it doesn't run too lean
