carbon reeds not closing fully

    i got some carbon reeds with my polini corsa kit i have fitted them to the standard reed block but they dont seem to be closing properly there is a very small gap and also something i noticed is that the standard reeds have a gap down the middle but the carbon ones are just one ful sheet with no split down the middle i was wondering if both of these things are a problem.

    well, somthings not right there then... mabey the block is warped, the reeds are just fucked or the backplate is marked

    oh right i see there probs only open bout 2mm and i did get told tht they would just close as the ped is run

    yes they will close, but AFTER some positive primary pressure is lost... also the negative pressure wont be as harsh

    hey, if reed block isnt warped, and its definatel ythe reds, when ther ecarbon if you heat them in boiling water and bend them slightly back on themselves till they cool. they usualy stay like that for a while. other than that worth getting new.. but to get you by, i did it to my cr125 for the time being.

    would tht stuff bout pressure be permenant oh just while they are like tht i.e would it fuck my bike for life.
