Hi guys. Just fitted a replacement carb. I've turned the pilot screw out 1 and a bit turns as stated in the book. Just taken her out for a blast and she gets to 30 eventually but it's a bit boggy on the acceleration. She eventually kicks in and flies away but then bogs down again. Is it simply a case of turning the screw out a bit at a time and keep trying it until she runs smooth or could I be missing something? Any advice gratefully received.
Sounds like your flooding!, Check your float valve needle is o.k.,(seating o.k.,no debris preventing of!),-(could cause un/controlled flow of petrol), Make sure your float isn't holed (leaking will cause increase in fuel level), Check float height operating tang, Make sure your air filter is clean + inlet/outlet hoses unobstructed, Make sure your choke is operating o.k.mark.
Carb.jetting?, Forgot to mention with an a/market pipe they also usually advise on roller weights as well an bear in mind your pipe also for the most operates best in a certain rev range.night/mark. .
my aerox had the same problem would bog down to 30 or so then fly off, i upjetted and lowered my rollers. Also i played around with the idle screw and the air mixture screw until it was running nicely just leave the bike running and you'll beable to hear the difference
Now that is a skill you don't learn overnight!, Setting tickover couple a hundred just off the edge of cutting out an hearing the 'sound'. .
Pilot screw is for 0-1/4 throttle Needle jet is for 1/4 - 3/4 throttke Main jet is for 3/4 to full throttle
