Im using stock carb on my 172 and need to know roughly if this sounds ok.
spec is bgm 52crank, 172, flowed cases, pm59 n that massive pm tuning filter..lol
main jet is 102 atm and seems like its too much.??? I had a 95 in before and seems better acceleration(but was running lean)..still seems to be running lean with the 102 :wtf: and acceleration has slowed down a bit..
With the 102 and now theres quite abit of lag if i half throttle then full throttle.
This could be down to air mix screw but couldnt find it on standard carb :msn1:
I have the 25ml carb, would it be better just to put that on?
even if petrol burns a hole in my pocket even quicker..lol
    thanks

lean will always be faster and some carbs dont have a mix screw.. i recon its a mikuni (metal carb top an float bowl and fucked up slide sys) wich would warrent the big jet.

all you can do is throw a new plug in once warm, take it for a hard blast quick and flick the ignition off at full throttle.. hold throttle till you stop and whipo the plug out, look for a colourd ring at the base of the electrode. THIS is a correct plug chop reading colour any other colour test is just general running all over rpm.

best bet if it is an all metal carb is ditch it and find a dell 20.5/25/28.. the pipe needs a big carb an you will SERIOUSLY appreciate the purchase

nah, your seriously holding back performance.. start with a 110 jet and work down with a filter.. rollers are pritty passive with a 172 (will run with totally wrong rollers) so this isnt an issue.. start the screw 4 turns out and work inwards. should be able to pip the throttle quickly and it respond instantly without any drop in revs but still drop back to idle as quick as possible. needle top notch to start but lift it if you cant get rid of the low volume at 1/4 throttle (revs fine but goes really quiet, this is lean)

you will like this.. belive me

reserve tank (at the front) as around that ye.. think they hold 9 in total but ive had the rear full at 3.50 from empty befor now so im doubtfull it is infact 5 litres.. more like 4

the reserve is filled when the main is half full and the pump is engaged.. shit sys really as it means restarting your bike, leaving it a min then filling up again.. you can cure this by remvoving the big poipe on the bottom of the tank and cutting the larger coper tube down a little.. it means your pumping fuel from one tank to another more often but it tends to keep the front tank full and use the rear but when you get low on fuel it doesent take all the fuel out the front tank so not really much point cutting off too much. better option is ether an electric fuel pump an leave the ignition on when filling up or just deal with it.. i usually switch to nrg tank/rear pans anyway as there alot bigger

speed rating is for cornering... no 13" wheel will corner above 60mph... ive done over 100 on chink tyres.. dw about it

it does really... speed rating is the limit you can go for more than 5 mins without the tyre breaking up. but there overly cautious.

can get tyres for scoots rated to 90ish mph tho. still done neer on a ton on shit tyres with no probs (just check em weekly like you should. any cracks in the tyre change it even if theres tread.. a cracked tyre is a danger to yourself and other people
