carb problem... is this the right place to post?

Afternoon all, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, so mods-feel free to move it
I have been restoring a classic suzuki or50 moped (with gears etc so not a scooter ) and I have just got it running this afternoon. The problem is its leaking from the float bowl. I have put a new gasket on it (home made using flexoid 0.5mm gasket paper) and it's a good fit. is there anything I can use to get a good seal on it? I've heard sealants are a no-no.

Do a search on the make of the carb, Mikuni/Dellorto etc, you can probably still get the proper replacement gaskets.
