The engine idle is too low, its always bogging down no matter what I do with the carb. What could be the problem? Carb is original (17.5?) on typhoon 2006 Thanks.
Carb is original so I guess the main jet is 70? The bike has 70 sport pro mk2 kit with pro replica exhaust for now... The problem is it did the same thing before the upgrades.
erm well put it this way.. i had a 56 jet in mine when the bike was standard.. i put a 60s kit in mine and put a stage 6 race pipe on and i went upto a 70 jet.. its a little to big tho.. so you need to find out what has been done to the bike and what the orignal jet size is and tell me..
erm personally i would put a slightly bigger jet in but that does sound about right.. im really not to sure
tbh i really am not sure with that, never had that problem with mine :/ im not sure what to suggest..
have you cleaned the carb out. best bet would be too take the float bowl apart remove and clean the jets and clean the carb out the best ou can. I use wd40 sprayed through all the holes etc to clean it out i had a issue with my runner bogging and cutting out and only wanting to start on full throtle. Turned out to be a blocked pilot jet
yeah you wana make sure the carb is clean.. tbh i wouldnt use wd40 coz its not great with fuel and you may have a fuel starvation problem for a few days..
fuel starvation for a few days? you spray it throughout the carb and then wipe it down, the amount left will be pretty much nothing. Pop the carb together and kick it over a few times til it starts. I did squeeze my fuel pipe to the carb and kick it a few times to prime the pipe again but thats just being ott
Mine was doing this, it was the idle jet. Don't forget that a sport pro kit and an exhaust is still gonna need more fuel even at idle. Go up a size or two on the idle jet, this will free up some adjustment with the air fuel screw. When that it set up right, you may find that the idle screw actually makes a difference
Allways use carb and choke cleaner for your carbs and blow through with an airline. WD40 contains parrafin and it can damage rubber seals.
I have cleaned it with carb cleaning spray and still nothing changed, I think something is fucked with the carb so I ordered new one.
Ok guys the new carb is here, it's motoforce 17.5 with 65 main jet. Should I upjet it to 70? The typhoon running 70cc sport pro mk2 kit with pro replica pipe and polini variator. Thanks.
i would use a 70 but try it and see how it runs then check the spark plug and see what colour it is ( if its light then its runing lean and needs up jetting )
