I was just wondering if people use brake cleaner on their carbs or does it have to be dedicated carb cleaner?

It's just that I have 5ltrs of brake cleaner, no carb cleaner and a carb to strip and clean at the weekend, what are people's thoughts? Can I use the stuff I've got or do I need to buy carb cleaner, looking after the pennies and all that!

You can sometimes just use compressed air if you are feeling lazy...
Carb vs brake cleaner is like coke vs pepsi...
Pretty much exactly like that in fact.
    Ha.
Isn't that just wisdom right there.

Carb will be clean, strip down, ultrasonic bath, brake cleaner, compressed air, will be like new, probably overkill but by the time I've finished if it's not right I can honestly say it's not the carb
