Girlfriend has just passed her test (new taxi ) and has got a: Renault Clio 1.2 S reg 3 door Value: 1200 Estimated milage: 5k a year A couple months back she was getting quotes, cheapest at £700. Now she hasn't been close to £1100. She has tried alot of online companies. Can you help me out trying to find some sites or will it be better ringing up? Just after TPFT
Try places like the money supermarket, tescocompare or gocompare etc etc i always find them to be the cheapest and they check through most insurance companys in one hit which will save time going through them one at a time. I used gocompare this time around on my insurance and it saved me a bloody bomb..
I take it your girlfreind is young in which case it's still going to cost a good few pounds even if it's a 1.2 clio. I got a quote a few days back for my girlfreind (new driver) and went through tons of internet sites and they all seemed to around the £950-£1300 bracket and they were all TPFT aswell
I'd say £1100 aint to bad for a first time driver at a young age and being a girl.. Things like your postcode and if you live in or out of a big city etc etc can do a lot to the prices aswell?
:msn1: where are you guys looking lol my sis got quoted 500 on a lupo gti fully comp at 19 im with quinn and theyre the cheapest for most people
I just got a quote with them on a lupo gti for a 22 year old girl who is nearly 23 in central london new driver TPFT and my quote was £1590 :wtf: You must not live slap bang in the middle of a big city like london or does she have any no claims etc etc??
Tryed quinn but no luck, couple months back was like £700 n I thought that was too good to be true as my mates were paying £1000-£2000 first year. She hasn't got the quote from that still though ^^ minor, what dya mean? She's only been legal for a few days. Tried prudential helmet It's SE9, so probs why it is higher than most. I'll get her to call a few. Thanks for replys unk:
jeff things like annual mileage, stick it down as 499miles or something they dont ask for your current mileage so how can they her she will do more than 499 miles in a year? less annual mileage = less time on the road = less chance of an insurance claim. and get her to stick her nan on the policy lol
Yeah saying you do very low miles can help a bit in most cases. The only real way a new driver who has passed there test is getting cheapish insurance is by the following.... By living in the sticks like wales or the scottish highlands..Anyware non-city Having a non-high risk job tittle have a garage for the car Cat 1 alarm system Getting a car with low insurance group like say 6 below And saying you will be doing very low miles etc etc Them things posted above are the main 6 things that will affect your insurance from what i have been told from a mate of mine that works for performance-direct in essex All them things above play big roles in what price you pay for your insurance well deffo on a new driver who has no no-claims discount to use. I remember paying £1400 on my first car a few years ago for TPFT :w00t:
could you get away with driving as a learner on your insurance when you pass your test? Got a good quote of 1,400 on my bmw316
