Capri dave please help i got light issues!

alright fella, i have a issue with my lights and im no good with electrics.. firstly battery,indicators,sidelights are fine and dash lights work also.. But when i switch to main beam the lights go off the dash and front and rear but indicators still work.. i heard a clicking noise from the front so had a look to investigate and it was a little black box with 4 wires to it (looked like a seperate relay or something ) is they a seperate relay for sidelights and mainbeam or am i stuck lol thanks mate ur a big help!

 

That box under the horn cover you speak of is the headlight relay...

grab yourself a haynes manual, and it tells you how to test it with a multimeter

worth checking for any loose connections well youve got the horn cover off too, and giving the switch a squirt with wd40...

 

i have already checked for loose connections and sprayed it with gt85 (same as wd40 but i think its better just more expensive) and still nothing.. it clicks so im thinking a new headlight relay is in order now... thanks alot mate
