Is there a wide range of tuning that can be done to these bikes such as cylinder kits, pipes, etc. Im looking to start a project on one.

Thats a yes... its a Zip engine.

Just gotta watch out with exhausts as the bodywork hangs so low down most catch on suspension movement.

Does anyone know where abouts the frame numbers are located on a vespa et2/et4?....are they located in the same place as a zip?

Take the seat bucket out just by lifting it up then it's stamped on the frame facing the back of the bike.
