    Hi,
I am looking to get my first scooter and I am unsure what to go for.
I really love the look of the Vespa LX125 3V but they are a bit above my budget at the moment.
Can anyone suggest any other makes and models I could look at that have the classic looks and that are reliable?
Some of the cheaper retro looking Japanese/Chinese models look good but are they a pile a poo?
I am 37 and have had a full UK licence for 5 years and this will be my first scooter.
    Am I better off with 125 over a 50??
It’s only going to be used for commuting but I think maybe in the long run I would be grateful for the extra power of the 125.
    Cheers,
    Al

Sym and Kymco are very good reliable scooters from Taiwan, very reasonable prices to. Don't ever overlook the Kymco, they make engines for Kawasaki and for the latest £8,000 BMW scooter!

    Hey mate,
    Cheers for that.
I have been looking at the the Sym ones...not checked out the Kymco yet but will now.
What do you know about the Lexmoto Tommy 125's or the LML Stars?

The Tommy is not worth a carrot, the LML is a traditional geared Indian scooter, reed valve 2t or very nice 4t version, 120mpg. The 4t is a little faster than the 2t out the box. I'd rather have a SYM or Kymco auto.
