Camera Question

    Im considering dropping a considerable amount on a DSLR camera for a upcoming trip or two.
    Before i do - Can anyone reccomend a camera sub £300 that has its own battery and doesnt use AA batteries, Takes decent quality pictures and is easy to set up and use ?

    my wife has a nikon i think, which takes amazing pics... has its own battery and a real easy to use....
