get around to frame again/next week,give it a wee rest as discovered c/std seized,though brake pedal operation o.k.,grrrrrr.,think i'll cut it out presently during the week & run it with sidestd off footrests,don't reckon pivot bolt+split pin'll run much
just a thought,could bolt up r/guard,cut C 3" off flange (corroded),&put a stiff mudflap on......

 

Have to do a fair job on backguard....advisory on last MOT..

 

Line at bottom's where I'll cut flange off & fit flap,
X top left,bit needs to be pushed in 4-6mm,
blacked area to right of ^,needs to be filed out a bit & filled - apart from that mudguard is reasonably sound +firmly affixed.mk.

 

Up reeeeeeeally early this morning,or last night (not in a decaffinated mode. ).,did a bit more,got the bug....going with it..

 

I'm going have some real fun,finding out....where all these f.....g nuts&bolts go..

 

That's the deal isn't it,sort & paint frame up proper,then drudgery of a day's work.....cause you're abs.dying to get back for a session,to savour the moment of 1 step closer,fitting 'bits..

 

Painting it red,by the by....though some bits will be hammerited..

 

Can't do much today.,will be taking this off.in order to get a good,clean,'fresh'scraping,for an affirmative colour match for possible future use..

 

What an absolute beeeeatch.!.,these were too get undone.!!!!!!,even then.it was 1mm at a time on a 1"thread,yukk.

 

Gonna look right tidy,when cleaned - nicely polished pivot arms.....fork rebuild kits on the shelf in some corner....somewhere.,,will floodlight on the insides to get as clean as possible..come up well/forks.reckon,surface rust ONLY.mk.

 

I do intend to ride this,like a third leg at 18 - when finished.....not freak out,if I get a bit of lint on the seat...

 

Think i've taken on a monster.!.,70 individual parts.just for these 2 lil fork dampers alone,eeeeeeek.,upside is viability,everything's in good nick,damper operate sweetly.spring free length's still well within limits & all seals/bushes/rubbers/cups/bolts/nuts/sleeves/+......,does'nt look like i'll even have to crack open the rebuild kit..
(reckon i'll still be chipping away at this bike in.............).

 

Got it's own corner in the living-room,now......
still a couple of outside sanding jobs,but major's over (frankly,arms are killing me....drill wants to go 1 way,i did'nt. ). -mostly down to loads of little night jobs/on the living room table,yaaaaay -

And yep,get laid every once ina while takes care of that,wallett shredder sitch...

Update:-
swing-arm's done,seat stay,50% under rear guard.....i.e.,all the major outdoor work's done now.....phew.

 

Spot the part in the top pic,on last post.that does'nt belong..

 

Cleaned up fairly well...will need new dust seals&to figure how to clean the slightly rough cast rocker arms..
