Tank only took an hour or..........so.:),rust is mainly underneath & top forward latch,
the exhaust however...BIG ol rust spot left-side of pipe-
deciding to clean up most of the original parts to save a bit of dough, has worked out well,it's almost as if the entire bike is made of 2 different layers,1 solid & capable of being made presentable + 1 rust...y,but NOT the type you could poke a finger through (cept the chain-guard.;) ).,
going to try and get some wire wheels for the drill this w/end.for the welds+joins an to take down the rust 'spot' on exhaust, was also thinking of drill extensions ('flexible')but they're too expensive.......have 2 fireplace/chimney's in my place.....so thinking manual shafting of certain bits, notably frame.

    Sammo.;) -
working on the carrier last night...was like peeling an onion, reminded me when I was getting trained up as a carpenter in the late 80's.:)., -gonna figure today about cleaning up airbox / notably fiiting.had lookies at alot of 50/70/90's & seems every single one has been cut by a pissed jihadi fundamentalist - literally EVERY single one/mullered & join up generally covered in some type of b.mastic.,carrier's just gonna have a quick abrasive rubdown/rust prep.on spots, black hammerite methinks......,
    last orders today,for a while...clean-up,store,then work on the V/C for a while....... .

This is the major motivator for me,getting the c70 otr,
The state of this carb. when I 1st got the bike, was indescribable.!!. - and it b....y ran too, ridden some bangers in my time,shocked/understatement,lotta time spent lovingly cleaning it out.put back together ,all original too, something i'm really looking forward too.:). 2014-09-17 05.57.39.jpg

My biggest problem, mainly - is i've become lazy. concerning bikes, moving into a semi-supported housing scheme years ago, cause I was pretty badly fkd up after bike accident,vis-a-vis everything is within walking distance.and I mean everything.leaving me with the desire cause of older fond memories, but less motivation than I may have had a few+ years ago. +
no you won't,c90 coming along one day......
then maybe do something daft, like buy a brand spanking new b/basement chinese 'ped.and di a year to the day postie - state of 70/90 after that.;).

I think you should just keep the 70 and vision and get a bigger bike, something like a bmw f650, theres a few knocking about around £1k-£1500 and some even cheaper, cheap as hell to insure and they go anywhere and last forever and when they do go wrong theres always parts for them.
that way you've got the 70 and the vision to run around on and then you have the bigger toy to do longer journeys on should you need to ;)

my plan is to just get something around the 125cc-400cc range
maybe a c90, Suzuki burgman 125/400, Yamaha majesty etc etc to use as a run about and a work hack and then get a bmw 650/triumph 800 to do longer runs on.

The Vision's my baby - when it's done up,gonna be tucking it into bed every night.:),
the 90's the bomb, when it comes to uber.work transport.commuter & what better as back up c70;) - part of a think on the 2 is multibike policy;);). -
bigger bikes a definate,however...if I wanted something really big/problem time,as would/will only have my vehicles in a off street secure parking situation like now(access issues/according to size.;) ).

Honestly,though....am seriously an totally unsure now.as to what colour to paint it,come up with this,so far.:-
    •Bare metal sand down
    • Wire wheel detailing
    •Vactan area specific rust treatment
•Zinc Oxide primer (66% or 99%-weld through,i.e.not fully known as yet tail/mudguard status)
    •Colour
    • Clearcoat

    Colour (choices):-
    •Nato green military/semi-gloss
    • Blue/grey similiar
    •Uhhhhhm.:)
•Red (as original,as sidepanel & f.guard.shock shrouds may come up well with cutting)
