well worth it if you set it up properly. If you can't, it might be better not to. If you can, the Stage 6 sport pro is a fabulous compromise between performance and ease of set up. ive just caned one for the last 6 months and it's not possible to get more speed with a Yasuni R exhaust as far as I know. And i haven't touched the carb settings once since the set up. I love it.

As above, we'll worth it. Just stick to a basic tune & your be fine.

cheers, after Christmas im doing a handlebar conversion and i was just wondering do you need to buy longer throttle cable and brake cables or are the standard cables longer enough

    Hi again -
I don't know the speedfight but if it's like the MBK/Yams there's an issue. If you're going to put a 70 cc kit on a scoot you need a 17.5 carb minimum. And it's not going to work with your standard cable (if it's like the MBK) because there is this 'junction' in the middle (why?). It limits the travel of the cable & the throttle slider won't go all the way.

If the speedfight has a normal sleeve from throttle to carb - you should be OK. If not - you'll need to spend a tenner on a nice new cable & sleeve.

Have a look behind the plastic & get your wire snips ready.......

I hate accelerator cables. Doing it from stock on an MBK is a pain in the arse. Use some gaffer tape; tape the new to the old & pull it through (and pray). Once the new housing is in, lube up the cable & it will be ok. A drop of solder on the end of the cabl before you feed it in is your friend - and when you cut the sleeve - dremel it flat.

    Good luck !

Are you saying yamaha has almost a 'restrictor' on their throttle cables? my throttle barley turns compared to other bikes ive rode? (Yamaha Aerox)

If so where abouts would it be?

Yup. It's a two -part cable with a connector in the middle. Hidden under a rubber sleeve. Generally it's right where you can't get to it without having all the plastic off at the front end. Hence the gaffer tape trick.

Don't panic. I'm sure Peugeot didn't do it like that (they do everything different !). But if they do - it's no biggie. Just like a brake cable on a bicycle.

First off you need to get your kit & your 17.5 carb. When you get your carb - connect it up to the throttle cable (nothing else) and with the thing outside the scoot - twist the throttle full open. Look in the throat of the carb. If the slider doesn't get out of the way (all the way up) full open on the throttle then there can only be two reasons for this. The throttle itself or the cable. Then you will know. In either case - it's fixable with the throttle and fixable with the cable.

As I said - I don't know the speedfight - perhaps a speedfight guy could give you a straight answer. But it really isn't a big deal. And you may not even have an issue. Peugeot's are interesting machines. But you really need a 17.5 carb on a 70 - bigger if it's a highly strung kit.
