im in a dilemma at the minute

im looking into buying a yamaha fz6.

yamaha have 0% interets on there new bikes which saves alot of money

    a new one is £4700, thats £150 a month for 30 months after a £200 deposit

the insurance on a new one is £1123 fully comp so £113 a month

    so far its £150 + £113 = £263 a month ok :pimp:

    theres a 54 plate one for £2700 22000 miles

as its not 0% interest it works out £98 a month with the abbey 10% interest or something with loan protection.

insurance on it is £823 fully comp so £83 a month

    so far its £98 + £83 = £181 a month

so the difference is £82 a month. alot when you have to run the thing to

but the s/h one has no warrentee, the other one is brand new

what the hell would you do as im confused :w00t:

Hard one to call mate but like i said i'd go second hand even a new bike can go bang just cos it's new dont mean there are going to be any problems. I just think second hand is always the way to go with bikes fair enough if the second hand ones goes bang you will have still have saved loads of cash on not buying a new one plus you should still have cash left over for repairs and another main thing here is if some one lifted your bike into a van new or second hand i bet the insurance payout aint going to be a big real diffrence i'd go with second hand like i said!

    The choice is yours....

If i were you i would go for a new one mate. Because its a new bike your the 1st rider so you know the bike because its new. But when you buy a second hand you dont know what the bike has done what its been through. ANd also you get waranty with new bike so if anything goes wrong they will replace the part free of charge. Unlike a used bike :p

But again peoples opinions are diffrent :D

Well put it this way, as James has said some advantages I'll say another.

Buy second hand and you'll have £984 a year for repairs which are unlikely if you find a good bike.

    second hand

hi monty, i would go with secondhand and see if you can get some kind of warranty even if its only three months parts only.most dealers/garages would do this.if they wont would make me think why not? but as said by others there are advantages and disadvantages which ever way.
