I am having issues with my front light as the other week my side light blew so i replaced the bulb with a brand new one as it still had the original bulb in it from 1984 a week and a bit later it blows again so i didnt know if i brought a faulty bulb or not as it should last longer than that although it was very bight compared to my old one, so today i put the old one in which the main light still worked as a light is better than no light, came back from my nans and that blown so i am thinking about putting a new bulb in it again and replacing this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycl...ycle_Parts&hash=item3f129581d9#ht_1501wt_1094, when i went to the garage to try and get one before the last one they said it could be over charging but surely not lol so shall i test it whilst its running at college tomorrow with a voltmeter to see if its putting out 6v
A 12v bulb will work but really you should firstly make sure you are getting the right power and the wiring etc is all in order
this is the 12v 25/25w http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MPF-HEADL...cycle_Parts&hash=item46005afadf#ht_1115wt_754
will try and look at how much its putting out today at college and ill rev it to make sure its not over charging when hitting top speed and goes past
As long as the notch is in the same place in relation to the pickups on the bottom of the bulb it should be fine. Id check though as some models of scooter use slight variations for some odd reason. If not you can modify the holders a bit but this can be a pain in the arse Higher power rated bulbs are fine obv theyll only be as bright as the old one but for the most part itll be fine. The quad evo headlight bulbs are rated 24 volts or something like that for example
Shit yeah my bad its a terrible idea don't know what I was thinking if you fit a higher voltage bulb it needs to be a lower wattage or it will blow quicker. Did you ever get a multimeter on it?
