i just decided to take off my reed valve as i cant see what else can be causing my bike to act the way it is it pops back alot and has petrol in the air intake and all over the throttle slide although the float it working so i looked at the reeds and i read if you can see light through them they arnt working and i can see light on all of them pretty decent size aswel when i measured it with a feeler gauge it was about 0.20mm the gap between the reeds so i put it all back together anyhow hoping for look i took it for a blast after puttin the reed valve in and it flew shot off at first was made up thought it was fixed then it hit just before end of the midrange and it went shit again then i stopped at a junction and then pulled off and it rocketed then went poor again and stayed poor now could the reeds having that space on them cause it
Well if you know they have gaps and you know that is a problem why don't you buy some new ones, fit them and see if it makes your problem go away rather than asking? Reeds are a very cheap part so it's worth doing that.
