This is a history of my experience with this Plug.
Originally I had heard on another forum that another xciting 500 efi owner had fitted one and was happy.
He indicated better performance and better economy.
You can't beat that so I imported one too . EBay.
After I fitted it, I had trouble starting and
    it spluttered badly.
There is a stop Street 100m from my place and it always cut out there.
I fitted the original Plug and the scoot behaved better one again.
At this point, the scoot required an exhaust cam. And that was done.
Straight after, it needed a stator. That was done too.

Ok , brisk Plug back in.
I continued with the start procedure I was using before;3 turns of the key.
(a forum member elsewhere said he had starting success with this procedure)
XC500EFI has a well known cold start issue.

Another forum member, a scooter technician, also a Kymco agent, said I must only turn the key once.
So I started that procedure, and the scoot started straight away.
I have to drive into the road, stop the engine and lock the gate.
When starting again, after locking the gate, the scoot would splutter for the first 100m.

Now I put the scoot on the centre Stand leaving the engine running, while locking the gate.
This way no spluttering or cutting out at the stop Street.

Performance is improved, but I can't confirm the economy as yet.

Doesn't sound like a plug issue to me.
Definately sounds like a cold start issue.
The reason being that when you start the bike, take it outside the gates, leave it running, lock the gates, get back on the bike and go with no issues, the engine has already warmed up to a point where the cold start (choke) is no longer being used and has shut off leaving the engine running normally.
Also, the method of turning the key 3 times before starting is not recommended.
Because your bike is fuel injected, every time you turn the key with the engine not running, it operates the electric fuel pump, injecting fuel into the cylinder, and can cause flooding of the engine, making it really difficult to start.

I would start the bike, leave it running for 3 or 4 minutes to warm up normally, then take it outside the gates.
Turn it off, lock the gates, start the bike and go.
Let us know how it goes

    Stevep, thanks for the input.
The sputtering only happens with this special brisk Plug.
The regular Plug gives no such symptoms.
I will advise re your cold start recommendation.

    The brisk Plug is history.
Scoot just cranked on this one colder morning after a night of rain.
After 8 attempts and battery still strong (new stator, yeah!) I swapped in the original Plug.
First turn of the key, engine started.
Pity this had to be, so was seeing some improvements in fuel economy, but reliability is more important.
