breaking the bead when changing tyres yourself

    i bought 2 new tyres for my katana but i cant seem to be able to break the bead of the old 1s i have tyre levers but i jst cant get the seal to break

    anyone know how to do it ?

    Please don't hold me responsible for anything, but i've quite often done it (very carefully) with my car, hanging out the window to get a good view and make sure u don't hit the wheel!

    Failing that buy a motocross bead breker they're quite cheap, and swhould be fine with scoot tyres!

    if you have a vice you can do it in there but i wouldnt reccomend it.

    i found a spade worked for me and didnt damage the tyre, but yeah wouldnt reccomend it lol

    Get some of those car sized tyre levers and just give it a whack with a hide mallet, just watch you don't fuck you rims, a bit of fairy liquid/tyre soap round the lip of the rim usually helps..

    i lowered a hydraulic car ramp on mine, u know the ones they use when fitting exhaust and stuff that go up to the ceiling :w00t:

    tread on it with the valve removed :confused:arc:
    problem is getting the tyre on and off... dont attempt it without trye irons as you WILL kil the wheel

    erm take it to a shop???
    at my work we only charge £10 a wheel and are machinery cost over 10K.

    i used to work changing in a garage we useed to change tyres free... i think most places are arnt they? lol if bot shudnt only b bout a fiver worth doin mate alot easyer :)

    io got a human tire machine, mates dads mates huge over 20 stone and the best thing for breaking the bead,

    thanks for the replys i used a vice and some tyre irons now my wheels are redy so i can paint them and put on the new tyres
