deffo rthe electrics, and the position of the headlight beam , majority of the ones i'v seem are shooting up to thge stars.

yeah any dodgy noises (even the slightest)

and see if there is any history on the bike, previous mot certifs, any work its had done, and ask if its had an engine rebuild, should be done every 10-12 k.

    derestricted?

pm me if you want any help derestricting it.

nah m8, these are real bikes with real engines... last well ;)

things to watch out for... fuck all really.... there spot on. just the usual mantenance... be observant towards funny noises tho.. as soon as the lump dont feel/sound/seem right tear it down... aslong as you keep ontop of the rings the engines last well... usual 2 stroke lifespan on the crank (upto 30,000 miles slong as iots not constantly ragged) carbs are poo... pipes are poo, forks are poo... the rest id honestly leave well alone, leo pipes work quite well on these and there cheap... look about on ebay for pipes tho as i found a titanium pipe hand made for 70 quid a few years back. then found who made it and had a few more off him... (this is 6 odd years back, dont even ask as i dont know anyone for them now...)

make sure its derestricted (got the powervalve servo/controller, not got a plate in the reedblock/manifold area and the pipes full bore)

oh one more thing... have fun (but be carefull, one of my friends had one for 3 days, got out of hospital 4 weeks later)

    Cheers minor  ,
Going to get a new piston & rings for it while it has 14k on the clock my brother said he will rebuild it (Rebuilt 2t outboard motors for a few yr) And thats a point too does anyone know the std piston size theres a mitaka one on ebay for £45 but its 54.00mm?

    Thanks for the feedback

    Another one.

The drip marks underneath are from leaky overflow on carb sorted it today though i think.

yes 54.0 is the stock size. i'd try to find a genuine honda piston and rings, although mitaka are probs the best pattern choice.

    i miss mine now :(
