had to try a 4t so been and bought a vxr 180 02 reg black got it of e bay ,body needs a tidy but engine and running gear spot on ,had tyres , engine mounts, brakes and a service two weeks ago but failed mot on one fork seal ? i only paid 400 for it now that is cheap, best bit i got the no plate valued been offered £1500 wont belive it till i got the cash, any way got to get it mot d then we will c.????had a quick ride not like a 2 stoke at all. i take some pics today and post em :w00t:
even it thats valued anywhere over say £700 sell it, you will still make money (after you've bought another registration and payed the fee's etc) and unless it's something majorly special its only a number plate, not really goin to make much difference to the bike is it lol
honestkly dont bother with the 210.. better to run the 200barrel with diff valves/ground cam and a decent port job on the head. a barrel an cam will cost you neer on 900 quid where as a second hand 200 engine and a couple hours with a grinder will give similer if not better gaqins for naff all outlay with 4t's dont buy aftermarket bits.. use stock bits from a higher moddle and go from there
if the no plate goes for what i been quoted then it will get the treatment,i was thinking ported 200 barrel too, first thing will be malossi forks so used to the ones on shiny, can not get used the bouncy front end at all the power delivery is so different to the 2t steady rather than light speed ):w00t: got to get rid of the air box and standard pipe too. will be picking your brians on the engine then minor ?
power comes from the head and the pistons.. the bottom end just has to last a long while. and ye the cylinder is exactly that, no holes. porting them is fairly easy by looking at the head.
yup, the machining involved can be difficult, try opening the valve seats and using bigger valves edit: is the vxr 2 or 4 valve?
4v.. its lower end bikes that have the 2v and the ac engines... these are the best to do a big wc 4t conversion to.. anyway the best bet is use slightly longer valves and grind the cam back.. wears out quicker and theres more side load on the valves but it does save you 350 for a malossi crank arc: can get good gains from just a 200 barrel and some decent grind work tho.
sorry so used to two strokes, machining the head no problem 5 axis cnc mill sat at work just waiting to used ,, :w00t:
noice.. i could do with one of those... using a crappy 3 axis soft mill at work what progs you run on it? could draw som things up for ya an make plastic proto's for ya.. obviously weigh you in just need a friendly miller with equiptment to match my needs. alot of it will need to be done by hand tho
Well done RED , good to hear about someone getting a bargain, instead of the usual tales of people getting ripped off. And by the sound of it a Project is born. unk:
cheers ross wot you thinking then minor hypermill v7 take anything really IGES,STEP,DXF,VDA etc can use a vertical EDM and wire could be interesting ?give me some exmple of wot you need :nerd:
Got yourself a bargain there! Steering looks out but that probs just needs tightening at the top as previous owner has had a fall. But a 4t............pffff
