well my bikes being a shed still ive upjetted to a 90 and still my bike bogs ive ordered some 5g rollers to try and sort my top end out but how will you no if your clutch is worn ? and my clutch springs have never been changed so is it worth buying some red springs ?
clutch would slip if worn...or you can get vibration if the bell is out of true (caused by over heating) yes it would be worth buying a pack of clutch springs...the ones that have 3 or 4 different sets in...to experiment when your scoot bogs...does it do it on initial throttle opening and then clear as the revs rise or does it try to stall as the revs rise??
dont know how to descride it dave you could be goin flat out then let the throttle off to say slow down then as you try to pick up the revs by opening the throttle it bogs right down its kinda dangerous on highways so need sorted asap
ok so its bogging on pick up and clearing by the sounds of it then!! could be: rollers too heavy..idle mixture set too lean.. what weight rollers you got in at the moment?? And i always get confused when talking to you are we talking speedy 70 here??
viva 70 same engine set up malossi 70 kit 100cc manifold dellorto 17.5mm carb *and airbox* endy race pipe 7.5 gram rollers 90 jet *72 standard* hope it helps
i reckon you might have a bit too much main jet for that set up if your useing an air box...my calculations suggest 83-85 main!! also going from 7.5 grams to 5 grams seems too big a drop...I reckon 6.5 gram would be more in the ball park...from memory speedys always use a heavier roller than a piggy engine
-_- i was using an 83 jet before and il get some rollers on the go anything else your mind can think of dave ?
try the lighter rollers 1st....if their too heavy itll be impossible to get the jetting perfect. you could do with buying a few sets to mix and match.. also try turning the mixture screw in a bit (small screw) make a note of how many part turns in case you need to return it to the original setting... I start by screwing the screw all the way in and counting how many half turns it takes to fully in....then screw it back out by the exact same half turns and then youve got a reference point to return to if adjusting dosent improve things
okay dave il give that a go 2moro so how will i no if the mixture screw is set properly is there a way of checking
engine will start easier...trickle along on 1/4 throttle cleanly without stuttering or fouling the plug up...engine will idle nicely (tick over)!! you can buy a gunsons colour tune...ive never used 1 my self...i tend to go by feel...carry a little screw driver and try to gradually zero in on the sweet spot...might take a few attempts to get it spot on
