    Hi All,

I recently bought an 08 Speedfight 50. It ran like a dog when I bought it, but through cleaning/unblocking everything, I got it going pretty well again...

    Or so I thought....

It was so flat when I bought it I couldn't pull away on a hill, and some hills simply couldn't get up.

    I have done:

Carb cleaned, all the way through. Checked for blockages in vacuum tap, fuel and oil lines, all ok.
    Air filter cleaned.
Exhaust De-clogged (this was the real breakthrough)

After all this, it ran ok, however after a long period flat out (say 25 seconds) it would start to cough. If you release the throttle, it would be fine again. I put this down to too small a jet in the carb. I have found the scoot is de-restricted, however it only had a 54 jet in the carb, and normal would be to go up to a 55-56 (from 50).

So, now, I've been using it fine for a few days, but when going up hills, it's now starting to bog after a short time flat out. Almost like it's flooding.

Have I gone too big now?

I also bought a second hand tuned exhaust. This says to jet up, but I have yet to fit it as it didn't come with the right bracket.

Should I jet back down until I get the new pipe on, or is this unrelated?

    Ben

Going uphill slow can mean too heavy rollers. And a 50 jet for a 50cc with sports exhaust seems a bit to low tbh... except from going woot on a flat then check the plug I dunno what else to say..
