Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. My bike just seems to be bogging loads. Up hill it just wont pull its doing about 5mph, on the flat it will only get up to about 20/22mph but if i get on a slight down hill it will struggle to a certain mph and then just go how it normally does as if its hitting a power band which I know it doesn't have and it should just ride like this all the time. I was thinking maybe coking in the exhaust or maybe something has collapsed in there. Thanks, Thom.
have you checked the condition of the rollers in the variator, if they are squared off replace, if not try some lighter ones. To be honest I would try lighter rollers anyway, could transform your acceleration, all for a bit of experimentation.
I loosened the exhaust so it was blowing and it made so much difference, acceleration, top end and it sounded like a tank. I know it wont be like this when I have de-coked the exhaust but I think that I've found the root of the problem. Yeah I think I'll stick some new rollers in as well, probably about time they need replacing. Video of bike with exhaust blowing on youtube:
Im picking up a new exhaust and front faring off the bloke who sold me it for free so fingers crossed it will be OK. Sports pipe when I get a bit of spare cash though i think.
Its taking the piss this de-coke. I de-coked the exhaust with caustic soda over night, ran water through till it ran clear and dried with a heat gun. I put it on and it just wouldn't have it, worst than when i started. My plan is to take it back off dry it some more incase any water condensed in there re fit it and if it doesn't work then buy a new one.
