my scoots runs fine, but noticed today that its started bogging bad. Say when i pull of the lights full revs. it bogs down and gets really bad, then hit 30 clock speed and im off.., but then say when its windy or sumthing it bogs then aswell, i think its air filter.. aint sure tho any opinions?
worn belt/rollers or a snapped clutch spring mabey. could be fuel ralated but if its fine over 30 its most probably transmission related.
you could try screwing the mixture screw in 1/2 a turn at a time!! when i was setting my idle mixture up...the same thing happened to my runner when the mixture screw was screwed too far out (lean). if I snapped the throttle open too fast at 30mph or under it would bog...so i screwed the idle mix screw in 1/2 a turn at a time until it stopped doing it...and its been fine since!! when/if you get to the point it stops bogging...try 1/4 turn each side of the setting to fine tune!! its adviseable to make a note of how many turns you adjust it by so you can put it back to how it was...just incase it is as minor says transmission related
My mate had exactly the same problem on his sr 50, so i checked his air filter and the inside wasnt seated correctly. I put the filter in right and it was as good as new ^^
ive now noticed that its only when then engines hot, as when i set off in the morning after letting it tick over for 10mins, its fine.. then after ive been on it a while is splutters off the lights and the petrol pipe that actually goes into the carb, so like the pin bit and the pipe itself pop off due to the pressure!
need an answer tonight boys, any ideas? could this still be clutch springs? under 10 mph, then its fine! arc:
i had this same problem n it took me 1 weeks 2 find out whats rong with it. the big spring in ur clutch might need replacing, my original one was stronger than the one that came with my variator. id get a new spring and up jet ur carb, n maybe lighter rollers, it worked for me.
