jog r. wen i first got the bike it was original , changed to a 70cc and sport exhaust and it flew 85kmh (on flat), upgraded to a 17.5 carb and was even better 90kmh . decided to geta 21mm carb and it was ok still 90kmh. decided to change it bak today as petrol is costing a bomb now and it was taking too much. when i changed the manifold one of the screws wouldnt go in properly and it was only going 40kmh. fixed it a bit and now its doing 70-75kmh downhill and it has a 72 jt in it but its no where near as fast as it first was, any ideas what it could be? should i try original air box? thanks
i think there not in properly :/ but the thread not on the bolts but on the bit where it goes into is fuked wat can i do with it? can you get them redrilled? or should i get some heat proof glue cement stuff and put it round it , coz it is quite tight just doesnt go full? thanks
Im on my phone ahaha its like a drill bit looking thing that screws into the thread/hole an puts a new thread in for you
ahh cool cool , does that work on the type of metal the casing is? i think i would prefer to get a mechanic to do that as i will probs fuk it up haha.
Yeah should do, just go to the garage an say could you re thread these holes for me. Might have to put a new bolt thats like a mm thicker though
okok thanks , im gunna try seal it first with heatproof silicone stuff and if that dont work will have to get them re-done
ahh great will try it when shops are open because i live in spain and everything is closed tomoz and monday and then i will hopefully get it re threaded with that thing u said about. how much do u think that will cost to get done?
just take it to a garage with all the bits off so he can just do it straight away without messing taking anything off it will take him 5 mins and its done just make sure you block up anywere were metal can drop into the engine
Helicoil is a food option, they drill it bigger and thread it, then put in a Helicoil that makes the thread the original size. You would be better off taking it to an engineering place than a garage mate, they're better at that sort of thing
fixed the manifold screw , but still not working , no power and shit acceleration. the jetting is the same as it was before when it ran great and had loads of power. could it have something to do with the air and petrol screws need adjusting?
the speed takes ages to build up and the top end downhill is the same but uphill its really slow. 17.5 dellorto carb
