My sr125 hasn't run for three years has been in storage on a trickle charger , so picked it up and rode it to MOT it passed fine and rode it home.

Now it doesn't idle very well but still runs just want to get it all running smooth , so I'm thinking

1- drain fuel tank refill with new fuel
    2- clean carb
3- check / replace air filter maybe clean it ?

Wondering if there is any other procedures I would be best to carry out

Also how do I check the transmission fluid level and what fluid does it take or even drain and refill ?

I have no manual for the bike

    Its a 2000 aprilia ar125 2t ac

Thanks for any help guys I'm all new to this !

check your battery fluid, drain the carb and fuel, check your tyre pressures too. on 50cc bikes you cant usually check the trans oil you just empty it and refill it, its mostly a pain in the arse, the drain bolt is probably right at the back on the bottom side, on some scoots its behind the transmission casing

I had the same issue with a Gilera runner, i just drained all the fuel out of tank and carb so it was
bone dry then fitted a brand new spark plug refilled it with fresh fuel and it was 100% spot on
    running great...

as its a 2 stroke this should be nice and simple.

empty the tank out and i would also empty the 2 stroke oil tank out. as 3 years of oil sat would bother me. refill with good fully synthetic 2 stroke oil not cheap stuff!!

refill fuel, id also suggest with the fuel empty i would give the carb a good spray with carb cleaner to clean any muck that has gathered and clogged jets and passage ways.

lastly is gearbox oil. its on the back of the engine, the dip stick is the plastic screw near the rear shock, the drain bolt is something like an 8mm allen key further down the back of the engine near the brake caliper. If i remeber correct you fill this with scooter gearbox oil and pop the dipstick in and screw it up every now and then until the level reaches the middle mark/line on the dipstick

oh and congratz on the bike, thats immaculate, id be tempted to hide it away to be a collectable in many years time with a pm 172 bore etc all new in box haha

Thanks for the comments guys it is MINT , only done around 4000miles ! , i went to do the carb but found the inlet manifold rubber was split so will need this changing and found my engine mounts are stuffed have side to side movement but will put a new post up for that to get it more widely answered .,

also would you go for a NGK or a NGK iridium ?

oh and what PSI in the rubber guys ?
    to the first comment its a 125 not a 50 .:)

Splits in inlet manifolds are common mine dont last 5 mins but are cheap to replace, as for
the spark plug stick with the stock NGK br9es if i can remember right.

I run 32psi in the rear and 29-30psi in the front.

PS: Your scooter looks mint keep it like that, dont spoil it was any sort of tatty mods
keep it standard like that as they are more rare and worth more in mint standard form.
