125cc Gilera DNA Key in, ignition on, brake lever in, push start button, makes a noise like it would just before it kicks in, but it never kicks in. Theres half a tank of fuel. Tried reving a bit while holding in the starter button, and still nothing. Every now and then theres a small backfire noise. It was working fine yesterday daytime, but when i went to go for a ride last night it wouldnt start. Ive had no luck at all today. Any suggestions?
easier said than done... I can get the HT lead off and i can get my spark plug socket onto the spark but cant get it turning because of the positionof the spark and the frame I know life is meant to be challenging, but just once id like a simple task lol
the ht lead shuould just pull off the spark cap. have you tried using a uj to get the socket on the plug?
The HT lead came off, that wasnt a problem. The socket tool ive got is one piece T shaped thingy. designed for cars but it has a universal joint on it. I can get it on the spark but carnt turn it because of the space issues between the frame. Gone need to go get a deep socket and try it with a socket wrench.
If it is struggling to start make sure your battery is fully charged and That NEW Plug you have there is to long. It sounds to me that u need a new engine
