whenever im not sure whats wrong, i jsut check over and usualy find something out of place or not right, not much to check on a scooter either, just make sure theres compression, make sure theres a good spark, make sure petrols getting in, carbs fully working (give it a clean anyway) and stil doesnt work, look into it further, make sure ignition timing is right, could stil spark but at wrong time? which may cause backfiring, but only if woodruff key has sheerd or slipped out of place, or theres an electrical fault maybe?

EDIT: oh make sure it turns over freely on down stroke with no scraping noises, hope it aint partially seized like NJH said,

lol do you ususaly use kickstart to start? if not, it could have been the kickstart being hard to moove, then freeing off when kicked first time, or, you have now got a nice big gouge out of your cylinder and its freed off, now probably would have very little compression?

no it has compression pops a little when i kick it.. i think theres far too much oil getting in coz it splutters like fuck lol..
