Took my bike out for a little ride, when i got home, I couldn't turn it off by the ignition. Whether the key was in the off or the on position the bike was still running... Also it was idling very very high, and it was revving on its stand. It got really hot, and then started steaming. The only way I could stop it was by pulling the petrol line off. And then taking the HT Lead off. Does anyone know what this problem could be? NB its a Benelli 491 Minarelli LC 70 (polini cast iron kit). Could this be caused by the fact that I might have the 2 tubes that go from the carb to the head on the wrong way round??
nah it wont be the two little head pipes, but saying that they are a biatch one came off on my bike i had the same problem it was leaking and steaming and usually you have to take the belly pan off to get to it to put it back on but i got some pinocio long nose fuckers and put it on lol. could be the contacts in the ignition tho like already stated .. darren.
My Stalkers just done the same thing AGAIN about 10 mins ago. Going along at 30, felt a loss of power, pull throttle back a little more and it started bogging. Stopped, the ped was ticking over really high and wouldn't turn off with the ignition. It must be something to do with timing as me and xenovia have just had cranks replaced. And I've checked just about everything when it happened before. How can I check the timing and what else could be the cause (head gasket is fine)
I don't think it can be timing on mine, because tweak just swapped a stock crank for another stock crank...
