bike overheating.

after the recent dilemma of my bikes idle messing up. my bike is now overheating. the only thing i have played with id the 2 screws on the side of the carb. and now it seems to be running as normal. however twice today i have noticed that my temperature light has come on. both times i pulled over turned off the bike left it for about 10 seconds and then the light goes off and im on my way. i took my spark plug out and it seemed very light and a bit white as if it had been under a lot of heat, i changed the plug and the new pklug has started to go similar. does this mean my bikes running to lean or to rich and how do i fix this. thanks

 

or could anyone tell me where the 2 screws on the side of the carb are meant to be set ite the 2 screws on the side of the carb that face u as if you are looking toward the front of the bike. the carburettor is a gurtner i believe and it says 12 on it so guessing 12mm my bike is standard too.

 

the white plug is indicating too lean, i wouldnt recommend riding it too often while its overheating, or you'l be lookin for a new piston!

I always thought running it too lean caused overheating? nd that was why it blew pistons

 

well its the same jet ive always had mate and its always been fine. ill try that tho.

 

ok mate ill keep you updated. the temp light has only come on twice and ive been riding a lot today used nearly half a tank :w00t: it cant be too bad as it feels normal. when you say half a turn you mean turn the screw 90 degrees or turn it 180 degrees. (sorry for the retarded question)

yeah mate your carb guide is proper good read it about 10 times but i reckon pics and vids is a big yes yes as it helps the more unexperienced people. just would be a lot of time on yours or the authors behalf.

 

i didnt say i didnt no anthing about carbs, i said i hate them lol and i said 'dunno' because i was tired and couldnt be fucked to discuss peds with you at 2 in the mornin.... especially yours. LOL

just cos it doesnt have a gearup or a 70 or a boost bottle and a streetrace 70 or whatever and it doesnt go 200mph on the flat like yours did haha. lol you got me in a rant now. :nerd:

yeah waht do you take me for the only thing ive touched is the 2 screws on the side of the carb.
