Well i changed my clutch springs for the first time the other day, and they are better but only really pick up after a couple of seconds then shoot right off (so it does move off straight away but REALLY slowly) Then i noticed when moving my bike around with the engine off its really stiff for some reason, i thought i had tightened the outer pulley against the belt (vario side) so i took that off and re-done it with a torque wrench but its still happening? Only thing i can thing off is ive damaged the clutch somehow doing it (probs something easy/stupid as it was my first time changing them imp: )
check all the spacers are in place and there are no other obvious mechanical faults.. if theres nothing you can find its most probably the idle mix setting
ye could well be.. alot of drum brake bikes have dry lever pins.. a bit of grease in the right place works wonders.... if its only when the bikes running just sit it ion idle for 10 mins and then whip off the cover and quickly feel the clutch pully if youve not revved it it will be stone cold.. if its warm theres a prob wiht the clutch as with stiff springs it should be nowhere neer touching at idle.
found the problem, the nut holding the clutch bell on was too tight. But after a short ride it goes all stiff again? Any ideas? :wtf:
bump jumps forward then cuts out at idle when the bike isnt on stand with pressure, or its constantly moving forward. feels like the belt isnt spinning freely when it jumps forward and cuts out
