Hey I have a 2006 Piaggio NRG Power DD LC 50

recently changed the main jet (53 to 58), put lighter rollers (4.5g), a kevlar belt and an arrow extreme exhaust. was running fine at first but now itll accelerate fine and then lose power. it wont go up hills, and on flats, itll only run at about 6500 revs and only hit about 37. when going down hill itll speed up to about 47 but struggles to get any faster. as standard it used to do 47!

i think it might be something to do with the clutch?? was thinking of ordering a new one and a 4 pack of springs to try sort it out but thought id post here first.

also, my exhaust is covered in black (oil?), dont know why its doing this either

any help would be appriciated as im pretty new to this stuff and want to get it sorted as its rinsing fuel :/

    thanks in advance

It's called WAITING. The forum is far from dead. Just because you don't get a answer in two minutes don't mean it's dead. Them rollers are too light. Want to be more in the 5g range. I'd go to about 65 jet as 58 just isn't enough (Personal experiences jetting Piaggio's) As it's a arrow it'll be a bugger to setup. You'll need stiffer clutch springs. Something like Malossi red springs most likely. Get back to me if you need more help.

It's right what you said, Many people Join, ask a question and then leave. It's only really me and a few others who answer stuff. I only really answer Piaggio/gilera questions haha.

    Thanks for the reply
Did some research on friday and decided that 4.5g was too light, was gonna go for 5g or 5.5g rollers. With the jet, I read somewhere on the internet that it wanted to be increased by 10% when changing the exhaust so I did that, will take your advice though. gonna buy a pack of clutch springs, do some experimenting. was also thinking of buying a new contra spring because from what i read up on friday, it sounds like its too light a spring.
is there any other parts you'd reccomend for my setup? i live in wales, lots of massive hills :/
    thanks again mate

Haha, I know wales is bad for hills (ex lives there) I'd buy a whole variator setup if you can afford it, I've bassicly got the polini speed control kit. Might be worth buying, I've found 65 jet is roughly right 90% of the time. Did a nrg the other day, runs mint.

maybe some people dont post because they dont want to just guess what s wrong ...Sometimes it is better to not say anything over saying something wrong.

You dont pretend to know stuff... you know it or you dont.

People would get things sorted much easier if they were a bit more methodical... You cannot expect to pick one jet and one set of rollers and bingo.. that s a rocket! Tuning is all about testing.

sometimes i find when i log in i see the same threads with the same replies and i start looking through old threads just to get a new read

not being negative before anyone starts im just saying get the stickers out there on them bikes get some fresh members joining

edit: you dont have to have the answers everytime, sometimes just a suggestion or a diff thought on a problem helps

Im looking at £50 to £70 variator speed control kits, i have no idea which one would be the right one to get though! Polini high speed variator kit, Doppler S2BR kit or the Polini speed control kit you mentioned are the ones I have my eye on, i dont know which one looks best though. if i dont end up buying one of these though, what weight contra spring do you reccomend?
    Cheers again

The malossi multivar is a good one if you can find it (Alwasy preferes malossi over polini and I know it wasnt listed above!!! :D) otherwise the polini speed control is a good piece as well.
