mine hasnt i got it wednesday and the thing is visibly off on the 1 side if u turn it on its side and roll it on the mainbearing in a vice. it looks bad so i will have to get it balanced then.

Not impressed to say the least....

hang on, youve got the main bearing on and in a vice and its off centre when you spin it?
YOU PUT THE MAIN ON WRONG

hmm they both on pretty good when you look at it. lemme explaIN

i installed the main bearings in the crankcase first then installed the crank and all went on pretty sweet with no trubs then centered the crank and then i rotated the crank to see if all is well and it was fine on half a stroke then went tight the other half and you could see as i was turning it over it was wobbly looking on both sides of the crank..... i have now split the crank cases and got the crank back out and the main bearings are now attached to it and both are right up against the webbs and got a tiny little gap.

so now i have had a go at it if you think thats the problem then i will just get the job done properly as i have had a go..

i have only ever done tops ends etc i have never messed with bottom end before.

chances are the webs moved on the crank when you installed it to the engine case.. ive NEVER had a crank come even 1mm out of true. easay enough to rectifie but you gotta be GENTAL with iut when you put it in the engine. lots of heat on the bearings and freeze the crank, helps alot and if you get it right will just slide into place

ok thnx for that. like i sed i will get it done properly save the trub as i dont want it to go wrong..

i didnt freeze the crank as i fort it wud cause condensation etc but i left it oit outside for few hours in the dry and it was frezzing cold and the main bearings were in the paint booths on bake for 30 mins and they were boiling hot and it did all go together pretty easy.

should be heating the case and cooling the bearings.. then when there in heat the bearings an throw in the cold crank. cold = small hot = big ;)

well a bit of a update i got it back from the shop and put everything back on flywheel barreletc fitted it bk in bike an firered it up earlier and its running sweet, my only other question is how much runnning in will i need to do do u think? just new crank and bearings everything else run it like barrel etc..

also my worry about it is that i changed my clutch springs ages ago and now it engages at 5-6000rpm, will this be a problem at start?

cranks dont get run in, they simplyt need 10 mins running just to settle them

wow.... didnt no that, i fort there the worse for running in. ok cool this is getting even better, what about main bearings, big end small end? just allow the oil to circulate etc?

sorry just a bit stunned there is no running in involved :p

technically they shouldnt need running in as minor said, just take it steady to start with so you can listen for any unusual noises, if you hear anything, kill the engine immediately.

ok cool thnx for your help guys, i give it some slight revs when i started it after warming up and it sounded so smooth also it revved very easily compared to my old crank, but it may be just in my head :p

i have a go tomoz on it to work as its quite a short run.

    thnx again

better balanced and higher primary compression, it will be revving alot quicker/smoother ;)
