just been on the bgm website and found this head spacer for malossi 172 ac kit , would i need to buy this for the crank aswell as the bottom spacer. http://www.bgm-tuning.com/scooterma...spacer/bgm-pro-spacer-cylinder-head-172cc-ac/
would that not have the opposite effect to a bottom spacer? effectively lowering the static compression but crankcase pressure would go up
yeh it would LOL i had a blonde moment there , so im guessing that i can buy one or the other and will have the same effect.
Fitting a thick head or base gasket will effect the port timing, a thick packer base gasket will give power higher in the rev range, a std base gasket and thick packer head gasket you'll get low down torque, low rpm. It's the hight of the exhaust port relative to the piston at tdc etc. Someone like Gary, (shiny red) could port the barrel to suit long stroke crank for best results.
I have tried both the 1.5 base gasket and this 1.5 head spacer and with the head spacer i had alot more power down low.The bike would wheelie alot easier due to alot more power down below.
