Hello, I was wondering how do you start your bikes on a straight line race 0-400meter (1/4 mile ).You just rev the bike on the signal ? Tell me your way ! Thanks !
well, if you have decent power you need to lay over the bars to do the following.... throttle to the poiunt you start to creep forward, hold the back brake, little more throttle, then on the signal pin the throttle and release the brake... like this looks slow as fuck as pod is a VERRY wide track... but ye, im obviously on the typh in the nearside lane. if you look close the front wheel is slightly lifted most of the time...
If you watch our video`s we don`t hold the brakes at all,it`s all about clutch set-up and balance. We are fortunate that our drag strip is more often than not very well prepared and sticky, we hold the whole scoot so it`s just creeping but held back by our feet on the track, wait for the lights and nail it! Quick action throttle helps and staging quickly so you don`t cook the clutch (kevlar lined std item ;-)) plus loads of practise. Best reaction time to date 0.08seconds.
Thanks a lot for the advice guys .I'll keep in mind all of the things im reading here and i'll keep trying too thanks a lot .I saw a guy once revving the bike while keeping the back brake too and then just popping the back break but that wouldnt dmg the belt+clutch or the gear system ?Anyway thanks again
nope, loading up the engine on the back brake is just gonna keep the clutch slipping and put about the same strain on the rest of the engine as going up a steep hill... your launch technique is all down to the bike you have, the power it has and your physical size... if its a long lo bike (like an italjet dragster) you can just pin the throttle with sill fast engines and it will just pull, if however your on a light ass bike with averry short heelbase and the same engine you ~ARE going to wheely disgustingly.. if you do set the clutch to bite lower you can remove the caricteristic, altho its usually at the cost of speed. hence i like the old "lay over the front and cover the brake" technique.. but ye... give it a try. only way yourgnna be happy with the way you launch your bike. its not lke fucking upa start at the sip is the end of the word. your racing yourself more than anyone else.
