Dont have to run them in as such.

I THINK!! Dont quote me on it :nerd:

^^^ that bloke is a cock, tweak has a great photoshop of that pic somwhere...

    anyway,

what you want to do is run the engine until it is warm at tickover for about 15 mins, then allow to cool for an hour.

re-check your head bolts are torqued properly

run the bike up to temperature at tickover then use SOME throttle, don't rev the arse out of it though, take it for a gentle run, any strange noises then kill it and investigate. allow to cool

now run the bike as normal, although i would suggest no more than 3/4 throttle for the first 50 miles just to shake the motor down.

Malossi actually give a guide in the little book that comes with the cynlider kit

    For me personally-
Start up and idle for a few mins whilst doing all the coolant stuff

Take it out for a ride of say 10-20min keeping the revs fairly low. Come back, let it cool then go over checking torques and everything is secure

Then take it out for an hour or two, not going above 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, but keep the revs varied

    And thats about it

i was told to use shit oil when running in new kits and i'v always used tesco's oil :w00t: , but seriously it's never let me down, obviously change to good fully synthetic oil after about 70-100 miles (172cc) about 250-300 miles for a 70cc

on a 172 you arent actually waering anything in as such as the barrel is machined pretty good then the plating is near perfect so there is very little run-in to do. the only reason i advise it is so you can hear what's going on in your engine.
