Im 22 in april and i drive a runner 200, because i cant afford car insurance lol. I did get caught drink driving at 18 though on a 125 so thats basically screwed me. Im saving up now and another useful tip is get a car which is worth about 1500 minimum. If its a 500 piece of poo then the insurers think u dont care about it, and therefore may crash it... if its worth a little they think u will drive more carefully...

    nothing for now
get married, drastic i know but it worked for me £1,500 got married went down to £800.
basicly nothing you can do will make it much cheaper if your under 25, fitting an imobiliser will cost more than you actualy save.
i have my car on a classic car policy £180 fully comp for the year without no claims a normal policy even with my 8 years no claims they want £480 ish alot cheaper than most of you younger lot are paying but its still a rip off.

im 17, i reckon if i got a quote in my own name on a 1.1 or something, it would be about 2 grand. step dad got a quote for me the other day on his car, I can get insured on a 2L impreza estate for £500! i do live in the countryside though :L

some people dont have much choice, not everyone lives at home with mummy and daddy
if you have kids, missis and stuff like that, what you gonna do, cart them all around to asda and back on ya 50??
dont think so, these people arn't getting ripped off on purpose, they dont get any choice at all
insurance companies have you by the balls

For your information, I'm only 18. So YES I do live with mummy n daddy. But I Pay my insurance. They are stupid prices you're paying. Also. i got a quote of 3500 for a 1.4 fiesta so you're not the only one who has problems with car insurance.

i didnt want your info, but thanks anyway, i already knew you lived with your parents like most members on here
and im not paying those prices cause im 29, but i feel for those who dont have a choice in paying those stupid prices
and these people who pay those stupid prices know that they are stupid prices but have no choice but to pay stupid prices so i dont think they would want you reminding them that ''You're all getting ripped out your ass.''

Funny how some older members end up sounding more stupid than younger members...

Anyone paying anything over about £500 for car insurance when they have the possibly of using other transport is a complete fool.

Cheapest quote I've had is £3300 for a standard 2000 1.25l fiesta! Think I'm going to do a pass plus, saves 25% with Adrian Flux which is £825!

Probably because ramo was stupid enough to get anything over third party insurance and he lives in a high theft area.

Yeah id be suprised if it gets any higher even with insuanrce going up ect. Im 18 with 6 points and TPFT and i pay about 700 odd with 200 excess. Standard third party was about half the price which im regretting now tbh as if my bike gets lost the profit ill get from a claim would probs barely buy a 172 kit lol :( .

Probably alot to do with the bike tbh...ive had insurance quotes on classic cars for around a grand fully comp
