    The usual suspects:
    Start at an exhaust
    Then upgrade transmission
    Then big bore kit
    Then bigger carb
    Then an uprated crank

Then get bored, sell it and get a runner or type 125 lol.

Seriously them are the steps. Don't expect it to beat tuned piaggios, gileras, aprilias and yamahas. The engines are shit for speed.

Slap on an exhaust and bore kit. Then be amazed at how shitty pugs are. Not trying to be a nob, just telling truth

What they lack in power, they make up in looks and customisability

I've had mine for 2 and half years and still walk out, take the cover off and admire it before I ride.

Just my 2 cents. If you want a ped to race your mates, sell the pug and get a fast bike. If you want a ped to look at and customise, keep the pug. If you've got more money than sense, tune the pug lol :p.

Fair enough. Was it down a long hill because no speedfight without a gear up kit will hit 52. Stick gearing only goes to around 45-50. Before I installed one on mine it used to scream all the way upto around 45 where it would stop.

On the 100 go for a stage 6 reed block and manifold. Exhaust, uprated variator. malossi clutch springs (red). 21mm carb, nice bit of porting and 100 main jet. mine does 70mph, im 80kg. Thats as fast as it will go because its geared too low. but it gets there quick.

If you only open up the breathing on one side of the engine, eg exhaust. You wont get the full benefits. Many reed blocks, inlet ports, manifolds and carbs are very restrictve. Designed for the restrictve exhaust. Your new exhaust pulse will be trying to pull in more fuel air mix but your carb reed etc will be struggling to keep up.
