hi there i just bought a benelli 49x. it has a polini 70 kit, leo vince tt pipe, and a sports carb on it. it gets to about 40 MPH but then the revs just die off and wont rev again until the back wheel as completely stopped. i had a look online and people are saying something about a speed limiter and cutting a black wire coming from the cdi can bypass the limiter? i tried cutting it and the bike wouldn't start up. if anyone could tell me what it is or how to sort it out i would be very grateful :beg: . thanks

thats probably the neutral from the ignition you have done the wrong thing , cut and solder that wire back to the other one , or look for a de restricted cdi , 40 is abit slow for a 70

Rev limiters don't usually cut in til stupidly high RPM anyway (something like 8-10k rpm if I remember right) obviously depending on the model.
AND! limiters don't stop the engine from turning, they simply don't allow it to go any quicker, so I highly doubt it being that. Seems more like something may be getting a bit hot and breaking a circuit then by the time the wheel has stopped its cooled enough and reconnected.
