just finished this for ???????(he will let you know if he wants) nothing drastic but should see a big improvement
got to do range rover lees new cases bef0re i get to mine bro, should be able to do more to mine the weekend :w00t: ring ya when you finish work unk:
What's the point in cutting the cylinder skrirt sides like that? flow from the reed cage will be still blocked with the middle part which should have been removed instead IMO.
point of this (if you actually look at the engine) is to remove obstructions from the reedblock to the TRANSFER FEED not into the case... as in, at full revs when the reeds dont even shut the pipe can draw the most miux through the crankcase.. cutting the window out above the reedblock is all well and good if your tring to fill the case, not if your trying to divert the flow to the transfers... look at an engine, its swings an roundabouts (can do what you like wiht the skirt, i prefer this way to windowing for the road
unfinished cases btw but this should help wheres the blockage :wtf: i see your looking for a scorp :w00t: says it all really IMO
the ideal is to window AND bring the sides up, for a road port the less hassel the piston has the bettert and this isnt really anything dfetrimental.. windows act as scrapers, even when beveld so the piston wont last quite as long, any gain is met wiht an equal but opposit loss
really enjoy looking at the tuning jobs and reading the theory behind whats been done Just a Q tho' WHAT do you use to remove the metal. I've used a dremmel before for such things but the cutters I have only last 5 mins before they lose their edge and then they're next to useless
use better cutters, tin coated carbide... carbide slot drills.. burr's... should last longer than a ddremmel if used correctly
