Hey Guy, I need to tighten my back brake as isnt really safe and need for wheelying! I know you need to grip the nut further up to stop the thread spinning and I can grip that but while trying to tighten it at end its not budging at all! ive sprayed wd-40 and nothing seems to work any tips?
Theres usually a square shank part on the cable that you can get a small size flat spanner on to stop it rotating. As above, give it a good soak in WD40 but then try to loosen it first to break the seal...then tighten. A quick wire brushing dont hurt the threads either to clean them up If all that fails, its a new cable needed, oh and it may also be the arm into the drum thats seized stopping the brake working so may need stripping and greasing
The brake works at fine just needs tightening for wheelies but gunna try again this morning thanks for help guys
How are drums on 50cc's out dated lollll. Yes they have drums on the new ones. And the repair kit bassicly is a new cable/ all the bits to attach to the rear break part as well. >> http://www.pedparts.co.uk/product/481/rear-brake-cable-repair-kit--universal
They last longer than disk They're easier to set up than disk They're a lot cheaper to make/fix and IMO they work better on the back
