Alright lads and all others inbetween, i bought my Runner 125VX tonight thing is though it cuts out on full throttle when its cold, once its warm its perfect. i think its the auto choke but my mate thinks it could be jetting is her stupid or is he onto something? also the bike has a Viper exhaust
Yep, ALL engines will not run perfectly untill fully warmed up. When the choke cuts in, its restricting airflow to the engine, so if you give it full throttle your dumping tons of fuel into the engine and theres not enough air to mix with it. Hence why it runs nice once warm. You should never full throttle a cold engine anyway, especially on 4T's as the oil takes time to warm up and lubercate the engine properly. The first 2-3seconds on startup your engine has no oil in it. You can hear the knocking on a cold start then it smoothes out after a few seconds once the oil circulates.
well first of all. you can check the main jet if its had a 210 kit at any point the auto choke on with a massive main jet may conk the scoot out or flood it. i would probably say its your valve clearences to be fair. does it start up easily. check the airbox is tight and if it hasnt been serviced in a while. thats the first thing to do as they love a good old service good luck
Its only had 2 owners (me been the next one) all of them where old men, the bike runs as sweet as a nut its a bit juddery on idle (could this be a sign of anything?) the airbox is nice and tight and a service i am saving up to get one as my local gilera service station is quite pricey and with me not working on 4stroke scooters EVER i dont have a clue what im looking at haha, the bike has a Venom exhaust if thats any help, the guy put it on as it was cheaper then a new standard gilera exhaust (he has receipts for the exhaust and quote for the standard one), im guessing by your sig your know your fair share about 4T scoots lol
