    Re: Attempt at kneedown

your lketting the bike fall down wiht you... hang off it (tuck your outside knee inside into the edge of the seat... hence the pegs are so high)
now come in to the corner faster than you think you should but dont panic (altho its the first responce to a corner your going at "too quick")
as you lay off the bike and lean in push your arms away... so both fists on the bars go from sholder position to your inside hand being the centre of your body... you will feel the bike stand up and probably feel really light hanging off it... it will all of a sudden feel VERRY slow...

now go in a bit faster (ignore the tight asshole on the entry, it WILL be ok) hang off, push the bike up and feed the power on, the faster you go the lower it will get, at wich point you push it saway.. once a certian corner speed is found (cant stand the bike up anymore) the bike will be close enough for you to push it upright wiht your knee... THIS is the point of it all as 90% of people i see go "knee down" are literally skimming there corner in a bend, not holding the bike up

the idea is your weight is in one position on a bike, at a certian corner speed you run out of tyre, so you push the bike away by switching body weight, once you reach the limit of this ands your commming off the edge of the tyre you need to hold the bike on the tyre with your knee, well, that and your weight.

took me a few months of sliding befor it ACTUALLY mader me faster in a bend, knee down is basicly how much weight you can get on your leg befor you pick the tyres off the ground. have fun and expect a couple off's... cant push the limits if you dont know where they are!

    Re: Attempt at kneedown

Ah I'll try that then, don't really think about the other leg tbh.

I'll have to try pushing my arms away, I feel my body position is right just need to speed it up, that's what I was finding, the faster I was going the more lean.

When I was feeding the power on it was getting lower.

Yeah so went there first day, got it down (hour session)

Second time (10-15 times) (hour session)

Just get on youtube and watch some clips to see what body position works for you so you can do it in corners without really trying

agree to a point, loo at youtube vids of TRACK riders THEN look at town riders.. will see the difference..

look at bens sig just above. outside elbow would be upright not downwards for maximum corner speed... push the bike away, means you go faster befor the leg go's down = the ENTIRE point :)

getting there... really stretching for it tho, knee is REAL far away from the wheels.... look at this pic
    [IMG]
outside elbow up, knee tight to bike.. probably going twicxe as fast and the bikes the same angle... now look where his ass and outside leg is.... plus the inside arm is leading... hence his sholders rotated round away from the corner.. meaning the knee go's down further forward/more weight comes off the bike.

getting there tho.. just a case of rotating round a bit more an pushing the bike away... not stretching for the floor... keep it up, wont take long ;)

looking good :D i normaly keep the side of my arse cheep on the edge of the seet and rest my knee on my elbow, gets you over more and dosnt make you think your hangin on by a tiny bit lol. im sure its harder to do when you go slower too?

slower ytou go the more your hanging on the bike, rather than the bikes weight holding you up so yes its easier faster (but also more testicle diameter needed) all gets a bit silly after a while. ah well :D

to add to what minor was saying use your foot to push on the peg to help get the bike up right
